Noon’s Announcement to Construct the Largest E-Commerce Fulfilment Centre
As part of an anchor investment into the quickly expanding e-commerce market in the emirate, Noon.com announced that it will construct the largest e-Commerce fulfilment centre in the UAE in Abu Dhabi.
The Collaboration
The Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) and Noon collaborated to create the 252,000 square metres mega facility, which will create thousands of jobs and propel the emirate’s digital economy towards its next expansion stage.
The New E-Commerce Fulfilment Centre
The new e-Commerce fulfilment centre, which will be situated in Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD), will be created and constructed using the Build-to-Suit solution offered by KEZAD Group. The strategic position and connection of the emirate will be used by Noon to upgrade its delivery services for millions of its clients in the UAE and create new chances for small companies to sell their goods online via the noon platform. The centre will introduce new automation technologies to boost the region’s e-commerce infrastructure.
For the construction of the fulfilment centre, ADIO is offering Noon both monetary and non-monetary incentives. The business-friendly environment in Abu Dhabi and the well-established infrastructure of the KEZAD Group provides a strong foundation that will assist the quick expansion of Noon’s fulfilling operations in the area.
The Results of Noon’s Partnerships With ADIO
The emirate’s innovation ecosystem and thousands of jobs have been made possible by Noon’s partnerships with ADIO and KEZAD Group, according to Abdulla Abdul Aziz Al Shamsi, acting director general of ADIO. These partnerships have also opened up new opportunities for the private sector to connect with an e-commerce platform. The giant e-Commerce fulfilment centre will strengthen Abu Dhabi’s developing dominance in e-commerce and logistics while benefiting nearby industries like transportation and storage by using Noon’s cutting-edge logistics, innovation, and technological skills.
The new e-Commerce fulfilment centre will facilitate prompt product distribution throughout the UAE market and serve as a hub for Noon’s smaller fulfilment facilities. New automation techniques for sorting, moving materials, and storage are also present in Noon’s facility. More than 6,000 new employees, from entry-level to executive positions, will be hired by Noon, opening up chances for individuals across all educational, racial, and professional backgrounds in the emirate.
The emirate’s ICT cluster’s burgeoning sub-sector of e-commerce is further strengthened by Noon’s new operations in Abu Dhabi. It will make it possible for business owners, startups, and SMEs to use Noon’s platform, cutting-edge technology, and extensive distribution networks to connect with new clients. Noon will follow the e-commerce strategy Abu Dhabi adopted in August 2021 to open up new investment prospects in the UAE.
Powering The Next Phase of Growth
According to Mohamed Alabbar, the founder of Noon, “The new e-commerce hub in Abu Dhabi will bring together millions of customers and thousands of enterprises to power the next phase of growth for the UAE’s digital economy.
When Will the Facility Be Ready?
The e-Commerce fulfilment facility, slated to be finished in 2024, will be delivered as a sustainable building that complies with the Estidama 2 Pearl rating. This rating includes initiatives to minimise water, energy, and waste and use local materials, which reduces transportation emissions and supports the local economy.
